Sales pipeline
Configure the active sales pipeline and its OPEN stages while preserving Won and Lost outcomes.
The Sales Pipeline defines the sequence used to track qualified opportunities. WebPro CRM administers the current active default pipeline; creating, deleting, or switching between multiple pipelines is not part of the current product.
What an Organization Admin can change
- Rename the Pipeline.
- Add OPEN stages.
- Rename OPEN, WON, and LOST stage labels.
- Reorder the complete active OPEN-stage set.
- Deactivate an OPEN stage when no current Deal uses it.
- Reactivate an inactive OPEN stage.
Rules that protect the workflow
At least one active OPEN stage must remain. The active order is always OPEN stages, then WON, then LOST. WON and LOST cannot be deactivated or reordered. Their semantic meaning remains stable even if their visible labels are renamed.
Deactivating a stage never moves Deals automatically. Current Deals must be handled deliberately before their OPEN stage can be deactivated.
Design stages around evidence
An OPEN stage should describe a recognizable commercial condition, not a vague confidence level. Growth Diagnostic can mean the team is reviewing the customer’s business and requirement, while Proposal can mean the recommendation has actually been shared. These are examples; each workspace configures its own process.
Keep exactly one semantic Won and one semantic Lost outcome in the active design. Ordinary OPEN stages should lead toward a decision without repeating Lead statuses such as Contacted and Qualified.
Change configuration carefully
Review current Deals before renaming, reordering, or deactivating a stage. A label change affects how users interpret the board. Deactivation may prevent future selection while historical relationships still need to remain understandable.
After configuration, create a synthetic test Deal, move it between two OPEN stages, and confirm Won and Lost actions behave as expected. Agree as a team on what evidence is required before each move; software configuration alone cannot create consistent usage.
