Deals overview

Understand how Deals represent qualified commercial opportunities with value, ownership, stage, and outcome.

A Deal is a qualified commercial opportunity. It has an owner, Pipeline and stage, amount and currency, and optional Company, Contact, originating Lead, proposal, decision, and outcome information.

Deals and Leads

A qualified Lead can be converted into a Deal, preserving the originating Lead relationship and Lead Number. You can also create a Deal directly when an opportunity does not begin as a Lead.

Amount and currency

The Deal amount is stored as an exact decimal value with a separate currency code. WebPro CRM does not perform foreign-exchange conversion or add unlike currencies together.

Outcome

The stage’s semantic type determines whether the Deal is Open, Won, or Lost. Renaming a stage label does not change that meaning.

When a Deal belongs in Pipeline

A Deal should represent a qualified commercial opportunity, not every early enquiry. It normally has a clear requirement, a responsible owner, a meaningful next step, and enough evidence to justify Pipeline attention. Leads remain the better place for initial qualification.

What a Deal connects

The Deal brings together its title, Company, Contact, originating Lead, owner, Pipeline and stage, amount and currency, expected close information, proposal context, and outcome. These relationships let a manager understand both commercial value and the customer story without relying on a separate spreadsheet.

Amount and currency remain separate. A value of INR 120,000 is not converted into another currency or combined with USD values automatically. Use the currency that matches the commercial discussion.

Open, Won, and Lost

An OPEN stage means work remains. Won and Lost are semantic outcomes, not merely colorful labels. Mark Won only after the engagement is secured. Mark Lost only with the required active Lost Reason and useful context where appropriate. Reopen an outcome only when the opportunity genuinely resumes.

A healthy Deal

For Technical SEO & Growth Retainer — Acme Commerce, the current stage should reflect completed work, the owner should be responsible for the next move, and a specific follow-up should be due. The Timeline should explain important calls, notes, tasks, and stage changes. If any of those are unclear, the Deal may look active while being operationally stalled.
