Understanding Lead Numbers
Learn how WebPro CRM automatically numbers Leads for easy tracking and communication.
Every Lead receives a human-readable reference such as LD-000001 when it is created.
Why Lead Numbers matter
Names and companies can repeat. A Lead Number gives colleagues a concise, precise reference:
“Please follow up on LD-000128 before Friday.”
You can use a Lead Number in Global CRM Search to open the correct record quickly.
How numbering works
- It is generated automatically.
- It is unique within the workspace.
- Separate workspaces have independent numbering.
- It cannot be entered or edited manually.
- It remains attached to the Lead after conversion.
- The UUID used internally by WebPro CRM remains separate and is not the everyday reference.
Lead numbering belongs to the workspace. One workspace may have LD-000128 while another workspace independently has its own LD-000128. The workspace context keeps those records separate.
Where the number appears
The Lead Number is shown wherever it helps identify the originating Lead, including Lead lists and details, relevant relationship labels and Timeline context, Global CRM Search results, and the Leads business-data export. On an edit screen it remains a reference rather than an editable field.

Press Cmd+K or Ctrl+K and enter the complete reference, such as LD-000128. Useful partial forms can also help locate the Lead. Searching by number is especially valuable when two people have similar names or several enquiries relate to the same company.
Use it in daily communication
- “Please review LD-000128.”
- “Proposal follow-up for LD-000128 is due tomorrow.”
- “Rahul called about LD-000128; add the meeting outcome before reassignment.”
Avoid referring only to “the Acme Lead” when several people or enquiries may fit that description.
Conversion and export
Converting a qualified Lead creates the connected Deal workflow but does not remove or change the Lead Number. The originating Lead remains available as historical context. Exported Lead data also includes the Lead Number so teams can reconcile operational references outside the CRM.
Do not attempt to reserve, edit, or recycle numbers. Gaps may exist over time, and a missing number should not be interpreted as missing customer data. The number is an operational reference, not a count of current Leads.
