Deals & pipeline

Pipeline overview

Use the Pipeline board to see active opportunities by stage and focus attention on what should move next.

The Pipeline groups current Deals by active stage. It gives the team a shared visual view of opportunity progress without replacing the detail on each Deal.

Read the board

Each column represents a configured stage. Deal cards provide enough context to identify the opportunity and open its detail. Won and Lost are outcome stages, while active OPEN stages represent work still in progress.

Use it in reviews

Ask which opportunities moved, which are blocked, which have no clear follow-up, and whether the stage still reflects reality. Open the Deal before making an important outcome decision.

Configuration

Only Organization Admins can change Pipeline configuration. Users progress individual Deals according to their role and ownership permissions.

Pipeline is not Lead status

Lead statuses describe early qualification: New, Contacted, Qualified, Future, Not Qualified, and Converted. Pipeline stages describe the progress of Deals after an opportunity has been created. A workspace configures its own OPEN stages, plus semantic Won and Lost outcomes.

Growth Diagnostic, Discovery Call, Proposal, and Negotiation are useful example stages for a service-sales process, but they are not immutable product defaults.

Read a Deal card in context

A card identifies the opportunity and provides a route to the Deal detail. Open the Deal to review Company, Contact, owner, value, expected timing, Notes, Activities, and Tasks before making an important decision. The board summarizes progress; it does not replace the record.

Find stalled opportunities

During review, look for Deals that have remained in a stage without corresponding activity, have overdue follow-ups, lack a clear owner, or show an expected close date that no longer matches the customer conversation. A stalled Deal is not always lost, but it needs a specific decision or next action.

Pipeline hygiene

  • Move a Deal only when the stage’s expected work occurred.
  • Keep value, currency, owner, and expected timing current.
  • Ensure every active opportunity has a specific follow-up.
  • Record important customer interactions and decisions.
  • Close genuinely Won or Lost outcomes instead of leaving them OPEN indefinitely.
