Won & Lost Deals
Close opportunities with a clear outcome and preserve the context needed for learning and future work.
Mark a Deal Won
Use Mark Won after the opportunity is genuinely secured. WebPro CRM records the Won state and timestamp and adds stage history so the outcome remains part of the Deal’s record.
Mark a Deal Lost
Choose an active Lost Reason from the current workspace. Add a Lost Note when more context will help the team understand the decision. A Deal cannot be marked Lost when no active Lost Reason is available.
Historical context
If a Lost Reason later becomes inactive, historical Lost Deals continue to show the retained label. Stage and activity history remain separate from the current Deal state.
Reopen when appropriate
Won and Lost Deals can be reopened through the approved action when the opportunity resumes. Reopening returns the Deal to an appropriate active OPEN stage and records the change.
Mark a Deal Won
Use Won when the customer has genuinely committed and the opportunity is no longer awaiting a sales decision. Before closing, review the final value and currency, Company and Contact, owner, and any relevant expected or proposal information. Complete or update follow-ups so the Timeline does not suggest unresolved sales work.
Mark a Deal Lost
Lost requires an active Lost Reason from the current workspace. Choose the reason that best explains the outcome, and add a Lost Note when extra context will help future review. “Budget” may be appropriate when the customer confirms affordability is the obstacle; “No Response” should not replace reasonable follow-up discipline.
Lost Reasons support consistent learning. They should be specific enough to guide decisions but small enough that the team uses them consistently.
Outcome integrity
Won and Lost are outcomes, not ordinary OPEN stage labels. Do not use Won for a proposal that feels likely, or Lost merely to remove a stalled Deal from view. Managers should be able to understand the result from the outcome, reason, history, and recorded customer context.
Reopening is appropriate when the commercial opportunity becomes active again. It is not a way to erase an incorrect outcome; record the resumed context and create the next follow-up.
