Sales Executive workflow
Manage owned Leads, Deals, follow-ups, and customer interactions while keeping the wider CRM visible.
Work from your priorities
Start with Dashboard and Tasks & Follow-Ups. Address overdue work, contact new Leads you own, and review the next action on each active Deal.
Keep owned records current
Sales Executives can create core CRM records and manage their own Leads and Deals. Record important interactions, update customer details, and move owned opportunities when the required work has happened.
Use tenant-wide visibility responsibly
The current product allows Sales Executives to view tenant Leads, Contacts, Companies, Deals, and Pipeline. Mutation rights remain more restrictive for ownership-sensitive records. Use shared visibility for collaboration without changing another owner’s work improperly.
Ask for reassignment when needed
Sales Executives cannot reassign Leads or Deals. Ask a Sales Manager or Organization Admin when ownership should change.
Start with assigned action
Review Dashboard and Tasks & Follow-Ups for overdue and due work. Open the related Lead or Deal before contacting the customer so you understand recent Activities, Notes, status, stage, and prior outcomes. Complete the most time-sensitive customer promise first.
Work a Lead
For a new owned Lead, verify the person and contact details, understand the requirement, and create a clear first follow-up. Mark Contacted after meaningful communication. Qualify only when the opportunity has credible fit and a next commercial step; otherwise use Future or Not Qualified when those outcomes accurately describe the situation.
Work a Deal
Keep value, expected timing, and Pipeline stage aligned with the customer conversation. Move an owned Deal only after the stage’s expected work has occurred. Record the interaction and create the next action instead of relying on memory.
Use shared visibility well
Tenant-wide visibility helps you avoid duplicate conversations and understand related Companies, Contacts, Leads, and Deals. It does not grant permission to change another owner’s protected Lead, Deal, Task, Activity, or Note. Ask the owner or a manager when coordination is needed.
End the day clearly
Complete finished Work Items with outcomes, review tomorrow’s commitments, and make sure every active owned opportunity has a specific next action. “Follow up” is not enough; state what you will do, for whom, and by when.
